Out of Red Ocean and Soaring into Blue Ocean: The Wii U Nintendo Selling Strategy in Gaming Industry

Since the release of its home console, "Wii," Nintendo had fought mostly successfully off competition in gaming market by using a blue ocean strategy. The strategy is idea to create new space with no or minimal through differentiation, low cost, and innovation. It not compete against but demand make irrelevant instead. Nintendo's first step pursuing was get out Red Ocean, where there none before, making primarily irrelevant. To do this, needed disrupt market. This study intends analyze journey from Wii's success less successful Wii U, hybrid console Switch's current triumph point view How it made innovative ideas, social gaming, health, simple most important factor fun, primary goal, often going mainstream reinventing itself still staying loyal core customers. These factors, significant software catalog broad spectrum available games, targeting casual gamers contributed that brought back industry's top.
